Keep these tips in mind to make sure your Super Bowl party is a winner a nutritious as well as tasty treat for all your guests.

Prepare a game plan. Before you head off to the grocery store, draw up your menu and make a list. Don't forget to include items from each food group. Also, be sure to shop early so you don't get tackled by last-minute shoppers in the aisles or shut out of choices.

Research your options. Don't settle for something that does not fit your party's style. There are many sources for recipe suggestions, including the Web sites of favorite products.

Take time out to clip coupons and recipe ideas in your newspaper inserts. Organizing means you can save money and entertain successfully so everyone comes out ahead.

Make variety your goal so there's something for each of your guests. When your party includes friends and family of all ages, be sure to include a selection of food and drinks for every taste. Don't forget to include nonalcoholic drinks for designated drivers and expectant mothers, and finger foods for the little ones.

Warm-up: Do as much preparation as possible the night before, so you can sleep in, work out or otherwise just enjoy the morning of the big game. There are several make-ahead recipes, including dips, which can be warmed and poured into bread bowls just before your guests arrive. Besides, you don't want to miss all those great pre-game commercials and shows.
