NORTONVILLE — Courtney Edmonds and Kortney Smith combined for 36 points to lead McLouth to a 54-20 victory over Atchison Mt. Saint Scholastica in the first round of the Jefferson County North girls basketball tournament on Tuesday.
Edmonds finished with 19 points and Smith added 17 points.
The Bulldogs (8-3) led 17-15 at halftime before erupting for 21-4 run in the third quarter.

Perry-Lecompton 45
Nortonville Valley Falls outscored Perry-Lecompton 18-9 in the first quarter and rolled over the Kaws in the first round of the Jefferson County North girls basketball tournament. Shannon Wilson, who was 8-for-10 from the free-throw line, scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Kaws (3-8).
Jefferson West 63, Oskaloosa 32
Winchester Laci Heller scored 21 points to boost Jefferson West past Oskaloosa in the first round of the Jefferson North tournament. Lyjah White scored nine points to pace Oskaloosa (2-8) in the lopsided loss.
