She was born Nov. 24, 1906, in Gentry County, Mo., the daughter of Adam and Josephine (Rubeck) Kimmet.

Mrs. Gast was a homemaker and a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church.

She married Francis J. Gast Sr. on June 5, 1928, in Conception, Mo. He died Aug. 29, 1984.

Survivors include eight sons, Francis Gast Jr. and Alfred Gast, both of Leavenworth, Harry Gast, Basehor, Stephen Gast, Easton, Bernard Gast, Burlington Junction, Mo., Herman Gast, Mission, Tex., Vincent Gast, Valley Falls, and Louis Gast, Linwood; six daughters, Christina Thompson and Clara Darrow, both of Leavenworth, Henrietta Bradley, Tonganoxie, Cecelia Wilmes, Maryville, Mo., Freda Meier, Lincoln, Neb., and Lucy White, Temple, Tex.; five brothers, E. Joseph Kimmet, Spokane, Wash., George Kimmet and Leo Kimmet, both of Billings, Mont., Charles Kimmet, Sunburst, Mont., and Andrew Kimmet, Great Falls, Mont.; two sisters, Josephine O'Loughlin, Fairfield, Mont., and Anna Moran, Helena, Mont.; 70 grandchildren; 159 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Elizabeth Mercier, and six grandchildren died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, Leavenworth, where a rosary will be at 7 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to the church, American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of the funeral home, 707 South Sixth St., Leavenworth 66048.
