Salvador’s goal boosts Blues to ninth consecutive victory

— Bryce Salvador scored with 2:12 left in overtime and the St. Louis Blues set a franchise record with their ninth consecutive win, 4-3 over the Boston Bruins on Monday.

Pavol Demitra, Keith Tkachuk and Mike Keane also scored for St. Louis, which won for the first time this season when trailing after two periods.

The Blues swept the home-and-home matchup against the Bruins, winning both games in overtime and improving to 10-2 in its last 12 games against Boston.

Panthers 7, Canadiens 5

Sunrise, Fla. Pavel Bure had two goals and an assist in his return to the lineup, and the Panthers withstood a four-goal third period by the Canadiens.

Stars 5, Blue Jackets 3

Columbus, Ohio Pierre Turgeon had a goal and two assists, and Brenden Morrow scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period as Dallas beat Columbus.

Pittsburgh Aleksey Morozov, finding his scoring touch now that he's playing on Mario Lemieux's line, had two goals and Lemieux set up four goals as Pittsburgh ended Philadelphia's eight-game winning streak.

San Jose, Calif. Scott Hannan scored his first goal of the season midway through the third period to give San Jose a victory over Edmonton.

Coyotes 1, Predators 0

Nashville, Tenn. Robert Esche stopped 19 shots for his third career shutout.

Avalanche 3, Sabres 2

Denver Chris Drury scored the go-ahead goal and also had an assist.

Kings 4, Mighty Ducks 2

Anaheim, Calif. Jason Allison scored two power-play goals and set up Nelson Emerson's go-ahead score as Los Angeles beat Anaheim.
