We stayed after the game so our children could get autographs as the players went to their bus. Each player we met was cordial and patient with the fans, even though it was late and cold, they were exhausted after a tough game, and they faced the late-night trip back to Lawrence.
While I know our sons will long remember KU's victories on the court, they will also remember their brief interaction with the players, and the example they provided of being gentlemen and good role models.
There are a lot of stories in the media which emphasize the darker side of college and professional sports, but the KU community and Roy Williams can be justly proud of this team's performances on and off the court.
