Top 25 Women: OSU cools off No. 9 K-State, 68-60

— Trisha Skibbe had 23 points and nine rebounds, and Oklahoma State outscored No. 9 Kansas State 9-3 in the final 1:32 for a stunning 68-60 victory Saturday night.

Chantoya Hawkins added 18 points, and Tari Cummings had 13 points and seven rebounds for Oklahoma State (10-8, 2-3 Big 12), which was coming off two games in which it shot 33 percent or worse, but made the shots when it counted against Kansas State.

Nicole Ohlde had 17, and Kristin Rethman scored 15 for the Wildcats (17-2, 5-1 Big 12), whose 14-game winning streak ended.

Rethman's three-pointer brought the Wildcats to within 59-57 with 1:43 remaining, but that proved to be their last basket until Laurie Koehn made a three-pointer with 14 seconds left.

Shelby Hutchens made a free throw and Hawkins a layup to give the Cowgirls a 62-57 lead with 1:04 left.

After a Kansas State turnover, Cummings made two free throws to make it 64-57. The Wildcats then missed a three-pointer and Terrisha Osborn was fouled. She made both free throws for a 66-57 lead with 20 seconds remaining.

After Koehn's three-pointer made it a six-point game with 14 seconds left, Skibbe scored on a layup to seal the victory.

KSU plays host to Kansas on Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum.

No. 1 Connecticut 93, Villanova 60

Villanova, Pa. Asjha Jones scored 19 points and Swin Cash had 17 as Connecticut remained undefeated. UConn (20-0, 6-0 Big East) opened the second half with a 25-8 run to put away the Wildcats. Diana Taurasi and Ashley Battle each added 15 for the Huskies, who have defeated Big East opponents by an average of 49 points. Trish Juhline scored 21, including four three-pointers, to lead Villanova (10-6, 4-2).

No. 3 Oklahoma 89,

No. 12 Texas 69

Norman, Okla. Stacey Dales scored 21 points and LaNeishea Caufield had 19 in leading Oklahoma over Texas. The Sooners (15-2, 5-1 Big 12) were coming off a loss at Iowa State that ended their 18-game regular-season winning streak in conference play. Texas (13-3, 5-1) saw a six-game winning streak come to an end. Stacy Stephens had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and freshman Kala Bowers had 17 for Texas.

No. 4 Stanford 75, Washington 67

Seattle Lindsey Yamasakai scored seven of her 19 points in the final three minutes as Stanford held off Washington. Sebnem Kimyacioglu hit three three-pointers and scored 14 points, Cori Enghusen added 13 and Kelley Suminski 10 for the Cardinal (18-1, 8-0 Pac-10).

No. 13 Baylor 80, Missouri 59

Columbia, Mo. Sheila Lambert scored 27 points and had seven assists to lead Baylor. Danielle Crockrom added 16 points and 11 rebounds as Baylor (13-3, 4-1 Big 12) snapped the Tigers' 12-game home winning streak. Kerensa Barr led Missouri (12-4, 3-2) with 18 points, and Natalie Bright added 12.

No. 15 Texas Tech 78, No. 14 Iowa St. 66

AMES, Iowa Amber Tarr scored 21 points and made five of Texas Tech's school-record 12 three-pointers to lead the Raiders. Natalie Ritchie added 17 points and hit four threes for Texas Tech (11-5, 3-3 Big 12), which frustrated Iowa State's 6-foot-4 Angie Welle inside and burned the Cyclones' 2-3 zone from the three-point line on 12-of-21 shooting. Welle led Iowa State (14-4, 2-4) with 26 points.

No. 20 Colorado St. 62, UNLV 57

Fort Collins, Colo. Ashley Augspurger scored 18 points, all on three-pointers, and Joy Jenkins banked in a three-pointer with 41 seconds left as Colorado State beat UNLV. Freshman Ashley Venekamp and Angie Gorton each hit two free throws in the waning seconds as CSU (15-3, 4-0 Mountain West) held off its main rival in the race for the league title. Linda Frohlich had 18 points and 12 rebounds for UNLV (14-3, 2-2).

No. 21 Virginia Tech 69, St. John's 50

Blacksburg, Va. Crystal Starling had 16 points and six steals to lead Virginia Tech. Nicole Jones added 12 points, and Sarah Hicks 11 for the Hokies (15-2, 6-0 Big East), who opened with a 15-2 run and held St. John's (3-14, 0-5) scoreless for more than five minutes.

No. 22 Colorado 88, Texas A&M 70

Boulder, Colo. Jenny Roulier scored 24 points, including six three-pointers, and Mandy Nightingale added 23 points for Colorado. Nightingale was 10-of-11 on free throws and had eight rebounds for CU (13-6, 3-3 Big 12), which beat A&M (10-7, 2-3) for the eighth straight time. LaToya Rose led A&M with 19 points.

Los Angeles Aisha Hollans scored 16 points to lead Southern Cal. Rachel Woodward and Ebony Hoffman added 13 each for USC (10-8, 6-3 Pac 10). Melody Johnson scored 16 points to lead ASU (15-5, 6-3).

No. 25 Boston College 59, Rutgers 56

Boston Brianne Stepherson scored 19 points as Boston College (14-3, 5-1 Big East) won for the 11th time in of 12 games. Nikki Jett had 16 points to lead Rutgers (5-11, 2-4).
