Junction City — In its final game before playing host for next week's Firebird Winter Classic, the Free State High girls' basketball team lost, 52-37, Friday to Junction City.
Lauren Wright led the Firebirds (3-6) with 12 points. Jayme Lisher added six and Stacie Garland scored four.
"We'll just turn our attention to next week's tournament game," FSHS coach Craig Hershiser said. "We need to prepare for Olathe North and start getting ready for them."
The Firebirds will face the Eagles, who beat Free State, 47-40 on Jan. 4, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the FSHS gym.
