The Eudora 4-H Club conducted a poll during its Jan. 7 meeting to find out what members' favorite sports were. Football and soccer were the favorites. Nicole Rogier, Krista Banta and Jordon Ballock were installed as new members of the 4-H Club.
Emily Ballock gave a presentation on activities and exercises to get back in shape. Chad Hale talked about his plans for the 2002 4-H Fair. Misty Emery discussed the breed of shorthorn cattle and her shorthorn heifer.
Members were reminded of the following upcoming dates:
Line dancing lessons are given on Tuesdays in January;
Registration for food fair is due Jan. 28;
County Club Days, Feb. 2, West Junior High School;
Food Fair, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Feb. 9, Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
The Meadowlark 4-H Club met Jan. 8 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite candy. Shelby Miller and Samie Milligan led the club in singing "Happy Birthday" to members who celebrate January birthdays. A committee was formed to plan a club trip. Chandler McElhaney was installed as a new member. Tyler Parker was a guest at the meeting.
Band and model meeting practices will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds until County Club Days on Feb. 2 at West Junior High School.
Members made tray favors for the Meals-On-Wheels program.
The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. It will be "Parents Night." The club will have a covered dish dinner.
