Meriden Services for Perry Brien Ketchem, 43, Meriden, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnett's Meriden Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Meriden Cemetery.
Mr. Ketchem died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, after a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Kansas Highway 4 and Kansas Highway 16 east of Valley Falls.
He was born Dec. 5, 1958, in Fairfield, Calif., the son of Earl R. "Bob" and Shirley Ann (Ballard) Ketchem. He was a 1976 graduate of Belle Plaine High School. He had lived in Meriden six years, moving from Belton, Mo.
Mr. Ketchem was a carpenter and construction worker for many years. He was self-employed at the time of his death. He also had worked two years for Bossler-Brown Construction, Topeka.
He was a former Boy Scout and formerly served as an assistant Scout master for Troop 182 in Meriden.
Survivors include three daughters, Krysti Demmery Potter, Winfield, and Brandi K. Richardson and Natasha Marie Ketchem, both of Belle Plaine; his parents, Meriden; two brothers, John Edward, South Elgin, Ill., and Mark Jason, Lawrence; a sister, Laurie Ann Gormley, El Paso, Tex.; maternal grandmother, Nina M. Ballard, Bakersfield, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends beginning an hour before service time Saturday.
The family suggests memorials to the Education Fund for the Ketchem Children, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 331, 101 W. Wyandotte, Meriden 66512.
