LMH may add another physician in Eudora

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is considering hiring another physician to join the longtime practice of Dr. Kenneth Holladay Eudora's sole practitioner in order to keep its foothold in that community when Holladay retires in the next few years.

LMH management has recommended to the hospital's board of trustees that LMH employ Dr. Dan Dickerson and assume the costs of having him join Holladay's established practice.

The board considered the recommendation during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday at LMH. It will revisit the issue when the board meets in February.

Two companies Curative Health Services and Innovative Medical Services have given presentations to LMH staff about creating a wound-care program at the hospital.
