— Angie Welle made 10-of-11 shots in scoring 28 points, and No. 14 Iowa State started the second half with an 18-4 surge that sent the Cyclones to an 82-66 victory over No. 3 Oklahoma.

Iowa State (14-3, 2-3 Big 12) shot 78 percent in the second half and made a complete turnaround after losing two straight road games last week, including a shocking 17-point loss at Texas A&M. Oklahoma (14-2, 4-1), which had lost only to No. 1 Connecticut, had an 18-game conference winning streak broken, and coach Sherri Coale fell to 0-7 against Iowa State.

The Sooners' last loss in a league game had been to Iowa State, 81-79 on Jan. 6, 2001.

It was the highest ranked team that Iowa State has ever defeated. Connecticut was ranked fourth when it lost to Iowa State in the 1999 NCAA tournament.

Tracy Gahan added 25 points and Lindsey Wilson 16 for Iowa State, which took advantage of a technical foul to open a six-point lead late in the first half, then blew it open with its torrid second-half shooting (18-of-23).

No. 1 Connecticut 85, Georgetown 41

Washington Swin Cash had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and top-ranked Connecticut scored the game's first 15 points. UConn (19-0, 5-0 Big East) held the Hoyas scoreless for the first 5:07.

No. 25 Boston College 69, Providence 49

Boston Brianne Stepherson scored 18 points, and No. 25 Boston College used two big runs to beat Providence for its 10th victory in 11 games. Clare Droesch added 16 points.
