Kansas City, Mo. Sprint Corp. updated its fourth quarter projections Tuesday, saying it expected financial results within or just below its previous forecasts.
Sprint expects fourth-quarter revenues in its FON Group, which includes local and long-distance services, to be "in the low $4 billion range," compared with a previous forecast of $4.1 billion to $4.2 billion. Operating cash flow was expected to be in the low $1 billion range, compared with a previous estimate of $1.1 billion.
Still, the company said earnings per share for the FON Group were expected to be within the previous estimate of 31 cents to 33 cents per share.
As for Sprint's wireless PCS Group, the company said that while growth was steady in the fourth quarter, lower-than-normal holiday sales cut customer sign-ups. Fourth quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization are expected to be in the low $1.5 billion range, below the previous target of $1.6 billion.
The company expects to announce its fourth quarter results Feb. 4.
