Q: What can I do to help teachers in elementary school make my kids good readers?

Supt. Randy Weseman said parents should establish good reading habits in the home.

"It's important to set aside time each day for reading together," he said. "We can read to our children and grandchildren, and then swap roles by asking them to read aloud to us. We can plan regular family outings to the library. We can purchase books as gifts for birthdays and other special occasions. As adult role models, we can send a positive message to children by reading at home for our own enjoyment."

¢ Ask Supt. Randy Weseman a question concerning the 3Rs. We'll post his response.
