He was born April 24, 1930, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Frank Lee and Vella Claudine (Littrell) Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He owned his own excavation business in Lecompton. He was a member of the cattle association and the Farm Bureau.
He married Charlotte Stone on Sept. 29, 1972, in Lawrence, Kan. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Regina L. Roberts, Eudora, Kan.; a son, Troy Peffer, Lecompton, Kan.; five stepsons, Draque Carver, Ozawkie, Kan., Lance Carver, Topeka, Marc Carver, Kansas City, Kan., Nile Scott Carver, Chama, N.M., and Quentin Carver, Auburn, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Cherie Stude, Bonner Springs, Kan.; four brothers, Bob, Appleton, Wash., Frank, Silverton, Ore., and Don and Jim, both of Topeka; two sisters, Kay Roscoe, Berryville, and Fran Rude, Jefferson, Ore.; his mother, Jefferson; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
