— Indiana got the lead against Iowa again. This time, the Hoosiers held it.

Jared Jeffries dominated inside with 26 points and Indiana took control with a 13-0 first-half run in beating Iowa 77-66 Sunday to stay unbeaten in the Big Ten.

Indiana (11-5, 4-0 Big Ten), off to its best start in the league since the 1992-93 season, made eight 3-pointers in building an 11-point halftime lead and answered every Iowa threat in the second half.

Last season, the Hoosiers led Iowa by 17 at halftime and lost 71-66.

"It really helped us to come into this environment and keep our composure," Indiana coach Mike Davis said. "I thought there were a couple of situations that if this would have been the same team as last year, we would have lost our composure."

Not this time. Indiana forced 15 turnovers with its aggressive man-to-man defense and contained Iowa scoring leaders Luke Recker and Reggie Evans, both of whom were ailing.

No. 2 Duke 76, N.C. State 57

Raleigh, N.C. Mike Dunleavy scored 15 straight points in a 23-2 run to close the first half and the Blue Devils (14-1, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) beat N.C. State for the 11th straight time. Dunleavy had 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the opening 20 minutes outscoring the Wolfpack by one and finished with a career-high 27 points on 10-for-18 shooting. No. 4 Maryland 92, G-Tech 87

Atlanta Juan Dixon scored 26 points to lead Maryland. The Terrapins (13-2, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) built a 16-point lead less than 10 minutes into the game but struggled to hold off the Yellow Jackets (7-10, 0-4). Georgia Tech got as close as 68-67 on Halston Lane's basket with 8:02 remaining.

No. 18 Gonzaga 75, San Diego 62

Spokane, Wash. Dan Dickau had 10 of his 23 points over the final nine minutes and the Bulldogs (15-2, 2-0 West Coast Conference) won their 12th straight. Roy Morris scored 17 points for the Toreros (9-6, 1-1), who have handed Gonzaga two of its nine home losses over the past decade.
