Willow Springs Community — Services for Walter Oyler, 86, Baldwin, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Willow Springs Old German Baptist Meeting House, Willow Springs Community.
Mr. Oyler died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at his rural Baldwin home.
He was born May 9, 1915, in Anderson County, the son of John and Elizabeth (Snavely) Oyler.
He moved to Indiana at age 4. He moved to California in 1946 and then to Pleasant Grove Community in 1996. He was a carpenter and electrician, and after his retirement in 1986 he did odd jobs for people in the Pleasant Grove Community.
Mr. Oyler was a member of the Willow Springs Old German Baptist Meeting House.
He married Esther Wise on Oct. 11, 1936, in Modesto, Calif. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, JoAnne Shuck, Baldwin; a brother, Howard, Lafayette, Ind.; three sisters, Esther Blocher, Cutler, Ind., Ruby Miller, Flora, Ind., and Helen Eikenberry, Camden, Ind., four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
