St. Paul, Minn. Mike Modano scored two goals to lead the Dallas Stars to a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night.
Ed Belfour, who recently criticized coach Ken Hitchcock for his frequent use of backup Marty Turco, made 25 saves and had a shutout for 2 1/2 periods.
The Wild lost for just the second time in seven games, failing to create any strong scoring chances for most of the game despite outshooting the Stars 26-16.
Antti Laaksonen scored Minnesota's only goal with 10:08 left.
Lightning 2, Thrashers 2
Atlanta Fredrik Modin scored a power-play goal with 12 minutes remaining in the third period as Tampa Bay rallied to tie Atlanta.
The Thrashers, who had their two-game winning streak snapped, dominated play in overtime, but failed to convert several scoring chances.
Patrik Stefan and Ilya Kovalchuk scored second-period goals for the Thrashers.
Dave Andreychuk scored in the second period for the Lightning.
