Extension offers public taste of ag program
The public is invited to learn about the Slice of Agriculture educational program in Douglas County from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Community Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 21st and Harper streets.
The program helps educate fourth-graders about how agriculture affects them. The program's goals are to educate children and their families about where their food comes from, promote agriculture, assist teachers with a curriculum and build an awareness of Kansas products.
Individuals interested in learning about the program can reserve a seat by calling Bill Wood, Douglas County ag agent for K-State Research & Extension, at 843-7058 or by e-mailing bdwood@oznet.ksu.edu.
The deadline for reservations is Friday.
