Dance company known for its athleticism
Overland Park Susan Marshall & Company will perform "One and Only You," a sensual and athletic dance concert, at 8 p.m. Saturday in Yardley Hall at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd.
"One and Only You" is about a writer who careens between the real world and the world of his novel until he reaches a crossroad. The work, choreographed by Marshall, is a mix of dancing, physical theater and literature. Text is by novelist-playwright Christopher Renino.

Henson characters to put on musical
Topeka "Bear in the Big Blue House Live Surprise Party" is coming in February to the Topeka Performing Arts Center, 214 S.E. Eighth.
The musical, based on the Disney Channel's "Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House" show, will be performed at 7 p.m. Feb. 8, 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 9 and 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 10.
The show features Bear throwing a birthday party for Tutter, his little blue mouse friend. Party guests include Ojo, a girl bear; Pip and Pop, purple otters; and Treelo, a lemur.

Legendary jazz pianist to play at Folly
Kansas City, Mo. Pianist-composer Ahmad Jamal will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Folly Theater, 12th and Central. He will be backed by James Cammack, bass, and James Johnson, drums.
Jamal began playing professionally at the age of 11. He was influenced by Art Tatum, Erroll Garner and the King Cole Trio. At the age of 71, he continues to maintain a busy touring schedule and recording studio.
A preconcert "JazzTalk" will be at 7 p.m.

Applications sought for Ann Arbor fair
Ann Arbor, Mich. The Original Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is accepting artist applications for this year's event.

Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 8 and received by Feb. 21.
The fair accepts new artists each year, in all media.
