To the editor:
I got up this morning and read my newspaper as usual. Two articles really upset me. The article on 1B about the elderly people and the one on 8B about the man who sold the lady drugs. I believe in the saying "a life for a life." I think if article 8B goes to prison for 40 years and has to pay $2 million in fines; then so should the guys in article 1B. I think that they should get the same sentence for murder no matter how it is done. The guys in 1B didn't receive what the guy in 8B got. In both articles death has occurred. So all three of them should spend life in prison for murder and have to pay a fine and any other crime they did at the time.
People around the world see these articles and think to themselves that if they were to go out and witness someone beating a person with a shovel that they would only get a slap on the wrist. On the other hand if they were to sell drugs to someone and that person happens to die because of the drugs that you sold them you could get 40 years in prison.
Personally, I do not find sentencing fair for the guys in article 1B. I believe that they should have got more time like the other guy. I guess what I really want to know is why didn't Fuller and Hayden get more time than or the same amount of time, the man who sold drugs to a lady (and she accidentally died)? To me murder is murder no matter how you do it or how you look at it.
