Iola Graveside services for James R. Long, 68, Afton, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Highland Cemetery, Iola.
Mr. Long died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2002, following an automobile accident near Claremore, Okla.
He was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla., the son of Larry and Janyce (Scott) Long. He went to school in Tulsa, Okla.
Mr. Long worked as a shoe repairman for Brown Duncan department stores in Tulsa, Chanute, Coffeyville and Sand Springs, Okla., until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1958, transferring to the Army Reserve from 1958 to 1962.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Long Beemer, LaCygne; a son, Jimmy, Edwardsville; his stepmother, Sue Long, Iola; a sister, Linda Long Martin, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.
Luginbuel Funeral Home, Langley, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.
