— He was born Nov. 17, 1910, in rural McLouth, the son of Walter G. and Ruby Coral (Kimmel) McPherson. He was a lifelong resident of McLouth. He was a 1929 graduate of McLouth High School, and he attended Ashland (Ohio) College for one year.

Mr. McPherson was a farmer in the McLouth area and served as a custodian in McLouth schools for more than 30 years. He retired in 1994.

He was a member of McLouth United Methodist Church.

He married Mildred Beatrice Osborn on Feb. 13, 1937, in McLouth. She died July 17, 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry, Tonganoxie, and Larry, Eudora; a daughter, Carolyn Waterman, Washington; a brother, Marlin, Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.

The family suggests memorials to McLouth United Methodist Church or to Tonganoxie Nursing Center Resident Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
