Concert to feature Serbian music
Topeka The St. George Serbian Orthodox Church choir will perform a free mini-concert of Serbian Christmas music at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 13 in the Heartland Orthodox Christian Museum, 523 S.W. Van Buren.
The choir will sing traditional hymns in English and Slavonic. Admission for the event is free and open to the public.
The concert is being held in conjunction with the "Russians and Serbs Along the Kaw: Immigrant Traditions in Kansas City" exhibition at the museum. The exhibit, which will be on display through March 31, explores traditions brought to Kansas by Russian and Serbian immigrants in the early 1900s.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
