Law enforcement report
A 45-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested Tuesday by Lawrence Police on suspicion of drug activity. Officers were at the woman's residence in the 1900 block of West 31st Street on an unrelated investigation, a police spokesman said. While at the residence, officers saw what they believed to be drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was obtained, and the residence was searched. Confiscated were small amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, a pistol and a sawed-off shotgun, police said. The woman was taken to the Douglas County Jail and released Wednesday pending filing of charges.
Burglaries and thefts reported
Someone forced a door open sometime Monday at a residence in the 1500 block of Cadet Avenue, a Lawrence Police report said. A 35-year-old man who lives there reported several items missing. Taken were a 27-inch television set, a DVD player and several DVDs. Damage to the door and losses were listed at $1,250.
Three vehicles were vandalized sometime Monday night or early Tuesday morning at Jack Ellena Honda, 2957 Four Wheel Drive. A window was broken out of a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, causing $200 damage. A $200 window also was broken out in a 1990 Acura Integra, and a stereo was removed. The value of the stereo was not listed. A $150 stereo was taken from a 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, but there was no sign of a break-in.
