Topeka — Memorial Mass for Jon Paul Mills, 35, Topeka, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Church of the Assumption, Topeka. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Mr. Mills died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center as a result of head injuries sustained Monday.
He was born April 19, 1966, in Kansas City, Kan. He was the adopted son of Fred and Jeanne (Doege) Mills. He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School, Topeka, and attended Kansas State University and Washburn University.
He was a musician and health-care worker.
Survivors include a daughter, Belai C. Mills, Perry; his parents, Tonganoxie; and a sister, Jan E. Carson, Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Belai C. Mills Education Fund, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 S.W. Sixth St., Topeka 66603.
