Burglaries and thefts reported

Crown Chevrolet, 3400 Iowa, reported the theft of four alloy wheels with plastic caps valued at $1,920 and four 15-inch tires valued at $500. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

A maroon, 1991 Ford Tempo valued at $1,000 was taken from the 2800 block of Maverick Lane. The victim, a 34-year-old Lawrence woman, reported that the theft occurred between 9:55 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. Saturday.

A 32-year-old Lawrence man reported that his 1999 Chevrolet Truck sustained $1,300 in damage and a Pioneer CD/FM/AM car stereo valued at $800 was stolen between 11 a.m. Saturday and 7:15 a.m. Sunday. The truck was parked in the 3700 block of Clinton Parkway when the crime happened.

An Olympus Zoom Camera valued at $250 and other items valued at $2,010 were taken from a home in the 2700 block of Grand Circle at 5:20 a.m. Sunday. The victim, a 21-year-old Lawrence man, also reported that two black, Rockford Fosgate subwoofers received about $500 in damage.

A 26-year-old Lawrence man reported that his 1998 Ford F-150 truck sustained $500 in damage and a large, brown wallet valued at $30 and other items worth $1,216 were taken during a burglary that occurred between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:05 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Prairie Elm Drive.

Douglas County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a white, 1988 Honda TRX 300 FW all-terrain vehicle parked below a bridge near North 1500 Road and East 1625 Road. The ATV was not listed as stolen, but the Sheriff's Department will store the vehicle until the owner can be located.

A 50-year-old Overland Park man reported the theft of hunting equipment that occurred between Dec. 29 and 2 p.m. Sunday from his property at 900 E. 1800 Road . Someone drove onto his property and took a $250 tripod tree stand, a $200 tree-mount deer stand and two aluminum deer feeders valued at $1,200.

Condition reports

The Kansas Highway Patrol Tuesday identified the person injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Douglas County as Carolyn P. Zapata, 45, Topeka. She was in critical condition Tuesday at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., a hospital spokesman said. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 40, 2 miles west of Lawrence, when the eastbound 1989 Ford car Zapata was driving went off the road and overturned, the Highway Patrol said.
