Iola Graveside services for Verle Mae Burris, 75, Iola, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at LaHarpe Cemetery.
Mrs. Burris died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Allen County Hospital, Iola.
She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in LaHarpe, the daughter of Hugh and Grace (Wilcox) Wilson. She attended school in LaHarpe and Mildred before moving to Iola and graduating from Iola High School in 1946.
Mrs. Burris worked for Bell Telephone, Iola. She made her home in Lawrence for years and worked for Southwestern Bell before retiring. She moved to Iola to live with her brother a year ago because of failing health.
She married Robert Burris. They were divorced.
Survivors include a brother, William Wilson, Iola; and two sisters, Maxine Leavitt, Joplin, Mo., and Evelyn Youmans, San Diego.
Family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. today at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel to leave for the graveside services.
