Buffalo quarterback Alex Van Pelt left the Bills' 34-7 loss to Miami late in the first quarter with a sprained right shoulder. Because of the injury, Van Pelt said he won't throw for 6-to-8 weeks.
"I don't think you can look back on the season and pick out a lot of good things," he said.
Miami will need to heal fast after sustaining several injuries. Defensive end Jason Taylor (sprained left shoulder) and standout rookie receiver Chris Chambers (sprained right ankle) became the latest casualties Sunday, and Pro Bowl middle linebacker Zach Thomas (torn right shoulder muscle) sat out the game.
The Dolphins have a playoff game next Sunday.
Rams Pro Bowl wide receiver Isaac Bruce bruised his lower back, but X-rays were negative. He missed most of the 31-13 victory over Atlanta.
Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair left the 23-21 loss to Cincinnati at halftime with back spasms.
McNair played through soreness and spasms in his back the past three weeks. He threw for a 41-yard touchdown and ran for a 6-yarder in the first half, when he was 11-of-18 for 173 yards. But his back seemed to tighten when McNair was sacked just before halftime.
Bengals defensive tackle Glen Steele sprained his left knee while blocking on a kick return in the first quarter. Steele was helped off the field.
Defensive tackle Keith Hamilton and safety Shaun Williams were knocked out of the New York Giants' 34-25 loss to Green Bay with knee injuries.
Pittsburgh running back Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala was taken out of a 28-7 win over Cleveland with what was called a sore groin, but he said the move was precautionary and he wasn't hurt.
