A 47-year-old Lawrence woman was treated Friday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for injuries suffered in a domestic dispute. Lawrence Police arrested a 46-year-old Lawrence man on suspicion of aggravated battery after he admitted to shoving the woman during a fight so that she fell and struck her head on a coffee table, resulting in several lacerations to the back of her head, Lawrence Police Sgt. Paul Fellers said. The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. Friday at the man and woman's home in the 3800 block of Shadybrook Lane, where the two have been living together for about three weeks, Fellers said. The woman told officers the man also shoved her against the kitchen wall and into the shower. The man was being detained late Friday in Douglas County Jail.
Burglaries and thefts reported
A 40-year-old Lawrence man told police that someone took his 2000 KTM dirt bike between Dec. 22 and noon Thursday from his residence in the 800 block of Arkansas Street. The bike was valued at $1,175.
A wedding band, engagement ring and several other items valued at $3,620 were reported taken from a home in the 2500 block of Ridge Court, a Lawrence Police report said. A 44-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft, which occurred sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
