Ottawa She was born Nov. 18, 1906, on a farm near Homewood in Franklin County, the daughter of Brannon Ralph and Lizzie Irene (Louk) Fish. She grew up near Homewood and attended Acorn Rural School near Princeton. She also completed one year of school in Ottawa. After receiving her education, she worked at Osawatomie State Hospital.
In 1936, she moved to a farm near Ottawa, where she and her husband farmed for many years. In 1966, she moved to Ottawa, where she resided for the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and farm wife.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa, where she was active in United Methodist Women and Lend-A-Hand Sunday School class, and was a member of a church circle. She was also a member of Extension Homemakers Unit, Emery Green Social Club and Ottawa Chapter of DeMolay Mothers.
She married Earl A. Reed on March 27, 1926, in Paola. He died Jan. 13, 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Bolte, Assaria; a son, Gerald Reed, Ottawa; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
