Charlotte's Brown suffers ankle injury

Charlotte, N.C. Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Brown left Thursday night's game against the Golden State Warriors with a sprained left ankle.

Brown joins a growing list of injured Hornets. Jamal Mashburn missed his 22nd game Thursday with a strained abdominal muscle, reserve forward Matt Bullard did not play because of back spasms, and George Lynch has yet to play this season because of a foot injury.

Bucks' Thomas fined

New York Tim Thomas of the Milwaukee Bucks was fined $7,500 by the NBA on Thursday for publicly criticizing officials following the Bucks' 90-83 loss to Chicago on New Year's Eve.
