Ham won't face charges if he gets counseling
Milwaukee Milwaukee Bucks forward Darvin Ham will not face criminal charges stemming from his New Year's Eve arrest if he participates in counseling, according to the district attorney's office.
Ham was arrested at midnight Monday on what police said was suspicion of violence against his wife.
Milwaukee County deputy district attorney Jon Reddin said after interviewing both Ham and his wife, he decided to give the Bucks forward six months to complete counseling sessions to address "any domestic violence issues that might have led to this incident."
Ham will not face charges if he successfully completes the counseling sessions, Reddin said.
Reddin said his decision was influenced by Ham's wife, who did not want charges filed.
Sixers coach Brown says he's not retiring
Phoenix Although he admitted he was going to retire last summer, Larry Brown insisted Wednesday that he has no plans to retire today. But Brown's future as head coach of the 76ers is not quite clear.
After the Sixers had a light walk-through on Wednesday at America West Arena in preparation for Wednesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, Brown responded to a WCAU-TV (Channel 10) report Tuesday night that had him stepping down and general manager Billy King stepping in as head coach.
Asked whether he was going to retire, the 61-year-old Brown said: "That was last year. I was going to retire (last) summer. I got over that. I might have to retire the way we're playing, but that was talked about last summer."
