Tonganoxie She was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of Mirrett and Reba (Pickens) Walker.
Mrs. McAlexander had owned McAlexander Nursing Home, Tonganoxie.
Survivors include six sons, Calvin McAlexander, Princeton, Cleo McAlexander, Lawrence, John McAlexander, Claremore, Okla., Dennis McAlexander, Fort Myers, Fla., David McAlexander, Kansas City, Kan., and Mike McAlexander, Lawrence; three daughters, Judy Markley, Lewisville, Tex., Vicky Durkee, Cedar City, Utah, and Kathy Walters, Lehigh, Fla.; a sister, Alice Ruff, Dallas; 27 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Diana McAlexander, and two granddaughters died earlier.

Lucy Belle Hoffecker
Overbrook Services for Lucy Belle Hoffecker, 83, Overbrook, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Overbrook. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoffecker died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.
She was born April 25, 1918, in Dewey, Okla., the daughter of Arthur Isaac and Ollie Mae (Monger) Newberry. She attended school in Coffeyville and was a member of the Baptist church in Coffeyville.
Mrs. Hoffecker had lived in Lawrence from 1947 to 1968. She had been an active member of League of Women Bowlers Assn., Lawrence, for several years. She moved to Carbondale in 1969, and to the Overbrook area in 1971. She had worked as a cook at Falley's Delicatessen, Topeka, from 1969 to 1985.
She married Walter Grey. He died earlier. She then married Gerald M. Hoffecker. He died earlier.
Survivors include four daughters, Billie Ann Began, Whittier, Calif., Jeanette S. Bond, Gate, Okla., and Patricia L. Brooks and Geri Jo Coffman, both of Lawrence; her companion of more than 30 years, Robert A. Sowers, Overbrook; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Overbrook, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
