To the editor:
Dave Ranney stated in the Dec. 27 J-W: "The city's medically uninsured could lose the only clinic that treats them if Health Care Access embraces dramatic changes." I would just like remind your readers that the Heartland Medical Clinic, 619 Vt., provides free medical care to the uninsured three days each week. Volunteer doctors Dennis Sale, D.O., Paul Kurth, M.D. and Peter Kimball, N.D., treat patients on a walk-in basis from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to free family practice care, Heartland is able to provide many prescriptions free of charge. We welcome anyone who is in need.
