s golf ties for 12th

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in a tie for 12th-place, in the 22-team field, after Tuesday’s final round of the Carolinas Collegiate Classic.

Kansas finished the second day firing a score of 328, for a two-day total of 648 on the 5,869-yard, par-72 Pinehurst Golf Course.

The University of Memphis topped the field with a two-round score of 610. North Carolina-Greensboro finished in second place (611), followed by host school Charleston Southern with a total score of 612.

“Today was a tough day for our team,” said coach Nicole Hollingsworth. “Overall the tournament was succesful. We are looking forward to competing next week in College Station.”

“I was disappointed with my score today,” sophomore Jennifer Bawnan said. “It was enjoyable to play at Pinehurst. Just playing on the course is an experience of a lifetime.”
