Injury accidents

An icy road was blamed by Douglas County Sheriff’s officers for an accident about 6:20 p.m. Monday that injured a Clearwater woman. Karen Huddleston, 59, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said. Huddleston was driving a 1999 Ford sport utility vehicle east on County Road 442 west of Stull, when the vehicle slid into a ditch and overturned, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A woman and a girl were injured about 6:45 p.m. Monday when their vehicle slid on ice into a ditch while northbound on East 1000 Road just north of 1138 Road, about three miles southwest of Lawrence, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. The 1987 Toyota overturned. The driver, Deanna Lieber, 38, and Tessa Lieber, 7, both of Lawrence, were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by private vehicle. They were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
