Ernest William Hornberger

Worden Inurnment services for Ernest William Hornberger, 77, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. John’s Cemetery near Worden.

Mr. Hornberger died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Hickory Pointe Care and Rehabilitation Center, Oskaloosa.

He was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Lone Star, the son of William Henry and Lena (Stoebener) Hornberger. He attended Colyer Grade School in Lone Star and Liberty Memorial High School, Lawrence.

Mr. Hornberger worked at Hercules Power Plant, DeSoto, and at Baker University before beginning employment at Kansas University. He retired in 1997 from the KU maintenance department.

He was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, near Worden.

He married Hazel Virginia Davis in March 1976 in Eudora. She died in May 1977.

Survivors include a sister, Marie Brohammer, Baldwin; and two brothers, Julius, Baldwin, and Herbert, Overbrook.
