Michael and Tiffany Baxter, Eudora, announce the birth of their son, Drayke McDaniel Baxter, born Nov. 20, 2001, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

He has two brothers, Michael-Shayne, 8, and Peyton, 3.

Grandparents are Dale and Brenda Long, Eudora, and Larry and Shirley Baxter, DeSoto.

Drayke’s great-grandparents are Rose Long, Eudora, and the late Bud Long, the late Roy and Winnie Baxter, and the late Francis and Betha McConkey.

The students represent the studios of Carol Cook, Jean Drumm, Sue Evans, Suzette Kugler and Sue Kwak.

Marceline Turner, Linwood, has been selected to receive the Ovid Snider Award for 2002. The award is given in recognition of service to the community.

A reception will be given in her honor from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 2 at the Linwood Community Center.
