Gardner ? Eudora’s girls basketball team couldn’t fight its way out of their second consecutive 61¼2-minute scoring drought and suffered a 47-42 loss to Gardner-Edgerton on Friday night.

“We always have a bad quarter and we couldn’t rebound,” EHS coach Gretchen Schreiner said. “Those offensive rebounds took us out of the game.”

Eudora (6-14) played an aggressive 1-2-1 zone defense in the first half that caused problems for Gardner-Edgerton (10-10). G-E, however, used a box-and-one on Lauren Kracl and held her to 10 points after a 41-point performance on Tuesday.

Kracl finished with six blocks and nine rebounds.

Eudora senior Jill Woodward scored nine of her team-high 11 points in the fourth quarter.

The Cards will Baldwin play the first round of substate at 7 p.m. on Monday at Baldwin.
