McDaniel Shines: Seattle Pacific’s Corrie McDaniel, a freshman from Lawrence, recorded a floor exercise score of 9.850  the fourth best in school history  in a meet at San Jose State. McDaniel also record a personal best 9.425 in the vault.

Knight Hits Century Mark: David Knight scored his 100th point of the season as Free State clipped Olathe South, 8-4, in KC Metro high school hockey. Free State’s record is 10-8.

LHS First at Baldwin: Lawrence High’s varsity cheerleaders and pom squad placed first at the Baldwin Cheer and Dance Festival last Saturday. The Lions captured the top four individual awards, led by Melissa Bowers. Allison Wright was runner-up, followed by Jessica Lusk and Sara Fisher.

KSG Plano Results: Amelia Firns-Hubert of Kansas School of Gymnastics placed second in the all-around in her age group in the Level Seven competition at a meet in Plano, Texas. KSG’s Kelsey Richardson was fourth in her age group. Other KSG age-group placers were Alex Hyler, Jessica Williams, Laura Devlin, Jeryka Lobner, Lindsey Fisher, Sindra Schuler, Genny Salvatore and Jennifer Pogge.
