Evelyn LaRue

Graveside services for Evelyn LaRue, 89, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clinton Cemetery, Clinton.

Mrs. LaRue died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Dec. 19, 1912, in Seneca, the daughter of James A. and Effie I. (Long) Keith.

Mrs. LaRue was a longtime resident of Lawrence and a homemaker.

She married Harold Glen LaRue on April 24, 1932, in St. Joseph, Mo. He died June 2, 1982.

Survivors include four daughters, Renee Hall, Lawrence, Joan Herschell, Perry, Violet Anderson, Kansas City, Kan., Glenda Breese, Lawrence; three sons, Robert LaRue, Lantana, Fla., Glen LaRue, Lake Worth, Fla., and Jack LaRue, Lawrence; a brother, Merle Keith, St. Joseph; two sisters, Blanche Thomas and Goldie Braman, both of St. Joseph; 34 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Lila Liggett, died March 15, 1989, and a great-grandson, Jeremy Powell, died July 28, 2000.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Clinton Presbyterian Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
