Douglas County under severe thunderstorm warning
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 4 p.m. Tuesday for northern Douglas County, including Lecompton.
Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm 16 miles southwest of Lecompton, or about eight miles south of Topeka, moving east.
Quarter-sized hail is likely with the severe thunderstorm, the weather service reported.
The weather service advises those in the storm’s path to move indoors.
