Area Basketball: Chargers sweep Immac

? Trailing by one at halftime, Santa Fe Trail scored 37 second-half points to defeat Leavenworth Immaculata, 59-40, in girls basketball Monday.

“The second half we really took care of the ball and went after ’em,” SFT coach Brenda Dahl said.

Melissa Ball led the Chargers with 22 points after scoring just five in the first half. Lindsay Boss scored 20 points and had four steals.

“Tonight Lindsay just stepped up,” Dahl said. “This was her kind of game.”

No other player scored more than six for the Chargers.

The Chargers will travel to Perry to face the Kaws tonight and will play on the road against Lansing on Friday.

Carbondale Down six points after the first quarter, Santa Fe Trail outscored Immaculata, 25-8, in the second period to take control.

Justin Ramsdell led the Chargers with 21 points. Shane Miles added 14 and Ryan Hulings 12.

SFT will play host to Perry-Lecompton today.
