Blue Devils wallop Wolfpack, 108-71

? No. 1 Duke and Carlos Boozer did in No. 24 North Carolina State yet again Thursday night.

Boozer scored a career-high 32 points as the Blue Devils warmed up for their Atlantic Coast Conference showdown this weekend at Maryland by blasting the Wolfpack 108-71.

Boozer was 13-of-14 from the field as Duke (23-1, 11-1) moved one-half game ahead of the third-ranked Terps in the ACC.

All of Duke’s victories since its Jan. 6 loss to Florida State have been by double digits and the Blue Devils beat the Wolfpack (18-7, 7-5) for the 12th straight time.

Anthony Grundy and Ilian Evtimov led the Wolfpack, ranked for the first time in two years, with 16 points each.

N.C. State came in with the ACC’s best scoring defense at 64.1 points a game, but gave up a season-high point total.

Jason Williams added 20 points for Duke.

No. 8 Gonzaga 72, Loyola Marymount 51

Spokane, Wash. Dan Dickau scored 23 points and Cory Violette added 15 points and 15 rebounds as Gonzaga beat Loyola Marymount. Violette scored 11 points in the second half as Gonzaga (23-3, 10-1 West Coast) pulled away to win its eighth straight game and 25th in a row at home.

Loyola Marymount (9-16, 2-9), which has lost eight straight games, shot 30 percent for the game.

No. 20 UCLA 77, No. 9 Arizona 76

Los Angeles Jason Kapono’s three-pointer with 19 seconds remaining his third in the final 3:36 lifted UCLA over Arizona. Arizona’s Channing Frye missed a 10-foot bank shot with about three seconds to play and the Wildcats couldn’t get another shot off as the teams scrambled for the loose ball. Dan Gadzuric had 22 points and 16 rebounds and Kapono had 20 points for the Bruins (17-7, 9-4 Pac-10) .

No. 12 Stanford 91, Washington 65

Seattle Casey Jacobsen had another brilliant outing, scoring 31 points as Stanford beat Washington. Jacobsen, the Pac-10’s leading scorer, has topped the 40-point mark twice this month. He outshined Washington sophomore Doug Wrenn, the No. 2 scorer in the conference who had 24 points on 9-of-23 shooting.

Jacobsen was 4-of-8 from three-point range and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.

No. 25 Southern Cal 83, Arizona State 61

Los Angeles David Bluthenthal responded to losing his spot in the starting lineup by scoring a season-high 21 points as USC beat Arizona State.

Sam Clancy had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Errick Craven added 14 points for the Trojans, who improved to 17-6 overall and 9-4 in the Pac-10.

Jason Braxton scored 12 points to lead the Sun Devils (13-10, 6-8).
