Area Boys Roundup: Perry-Lecompton edges Basehor, 63-59

? One day after an overtime loss to Kansas City Piper, Perry-Lecompton had enough left to defeat Basehor-Linwood, 63-59, on Tuesday in Kaw Valley League boys basketball.

“We were tired,” Perry coach Pat Hupfauf said. “Basehor played wonderfully and I give them all the credit in the world, but they didn’t play last night and we did. I could tell defensively we were tired.”

The Kaws trailed 46-39 after three quarters, but outscored Basehor, 24-13, in the final period.

Shawn Howard led the Kaws with 18 points. Jared Swafford scored 17.
