Theodore W. Beach
Services for Theodore W. Beach, 71, Lawrence, will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Leavenworth.
Mr. Beach died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
He was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Alton, Ill., the son of Clifton L. Beach Sr. and Elizabeth (Swift) Beach. He graduated from Alton High School in 1947.
Mr. Beach served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1968, when he retired as sergeant first class. He then worked as maintenance supervisor at Lawrence Memorial Hospital until he retired in December 1990.
He served as deacon of New Hope Baptist Church.
He married Bertha Hepler on Sept. 17, 1950, at Fort Lee, Va. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Terri Beach, Lawrence; three sons, Michael R., Lawrence, Theodore “Bill” Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mark A., Athens, Ga.; a sister, Mildred Hancock, Florissant, Mo.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to New Hope Baptist Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
