Glen E. Sunderland

? Services for Glen E. Sunderland, 77, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Topeka. Private inurnment will be at a later date.

Mr. Sunderland died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at a Topeka care facility.

He was born July 17, 1924, in Vermillion, the son of Walter and Barbara Ellen (Law) Sunderland. He was raised in Marshall County and graduated from Summerfield High School.

Mr. Sunderland worked in Kansas, living in Lawrence for 13 years before he moved to Texas. He returned to Topeka in 1989. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was discharged in 1951.

He was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and a life member of Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He married Donna M. Stewart on Aug. 3, 1952. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Renae Midence, Miami, Fla., and Gayla Sunderland Grovenburg, Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son, Kelly, San Diego; two sisters, Frances Burks, Lansing, and Della Osborn, Long Beach, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
