Burglaries and thefts reported

A 46-year-old Lawrence man reported a burglary between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday at his house in the 2200 block of Louisiana Street. Taken were a gold wedding band valued at $300, $10 in cash and 50 other items valued at $1,435.

A 43-year-old Lawrence man reported that his 1991 Cadillac was vandalized between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Rimrock Drive. Damage was estimated at $2,500.

An apartment was broken into between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2:50 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Monterey Way. A 21-year-old Lawrence man reported that 200 of his compact discs were taken, with the loss estimated at $2,000. The lock and frame of his door also were damaged.

Injury accidents

A car-pedestrian accident in DeSoto sent one man to the hospital Sunday night. A 45-year-old DeSoto resident was struck by a car at 6:45 p.m. Sunday as he walking near the corner of Lexington Avenue and Ottawa Street. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department reported that he was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, but it would not release his name or any additional information about the accident.
