As Dec. 20 and the NCAA’s new early signing period for college football nears, one of the New Orleans high school players Kansas has coveted for months has eliminated all but two programs from his list of potential destinations.

Four-star Landry-Walker cornerback Corione Harris announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter he will focus in on KU and Mississippi State as he makes his decision.

Harris, like his prep teammate Devonta Jason, a five-star receiver, committed to the Jayhawks back in February, after associate head coach Tony Hull had them and other Louisiana prospects in Lawrence to check out the rebuilding program’s facilities.

That same weekend, Kansas also picked up a non-binding verbal pledge for its 2018 recruiting class from three-star running back Anthony Williams, from Boutte, La.

Harris, a 6-foot-1 corner, is ranked the No. 97 prospect in the nation according to Rivals, as well as the 11th-best cornerback in the nation and the No. 6 prospect in Louisiana.

Jason, ranked No. 31 overall by Rivals, revealed a few days earlier he is considering KU, Mississippi State, Florida and LSU.
