A special New Year’s Eve Taize service of prayer and meditation, including the celebration of Communion, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 245 N. Fourth St.

A finance seminar will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 11 at the Ninth Street Christian Outreach Center, 901 Tenn.

Topics include strengthening your church through pastoral support; church finances; knowing your purpose; and understanding and maintaining the church budget.

Unity Church of Lawrence

A Kwanzaa service with the Revs. Carolyn Jean Rhodes and Genice Oneale will be at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday at Unity Church of Lawrence, 905 Madeline Lane.

The church will hold its traditional Burning Bowl service Jan. 5.

An eight-week class on Unity Basics will begin Jan. 8.
